THE FULL STORY

Los Angeles stages. A life spent adapting.

Now, a stage in Bangkok.

Portrait of Emily Brandwin

A longtime improviser, performer, and teacher, Emily has spent years helping people become more confident communicators, better listeners, stronger collaborators, and more comfortable embracing the unexpected. She teaches improv comedy not to create comedians, but to help people connect more authentically with themselves and with each other.

Emily trained and performed at ComedySportz and other top theaters in Los Angeles and across the US before bringing that same energy and passion to Bangkok. She works with adults, high school students, and university students in a playful and supportive environment, where everyone, from complete beginners to experienced performers, can take risks, grow, laugh, and have fun.

Emily has used her improv skills to give talks at Yale University and at corporate events across North America, and to interview notable figures and celebrities including Hillary Clinton, Jon Cryer, Alyssa Milano, and many others.

Before returning to her first love of improv comedy, Emily had one of the most unexpected careers imaginable. Recruited after earning a theater degree, she spent years working internationally in intelligence for the United States government, including as an operations officer, before coming back to the stage. She credits that chapter with sharpening the same skills she now teaches: adaptability, presence, empathy, and the ability to think on her feet.
